The Weir

The Weir

by Conor McPherson; directed by Joseph Discher

Dusty Loo Bon Vivant Theater

It’s a stormy evening in rural Ireland, and it’s slow business in the pub. In comes the young woman who has bought the house at the top of the hill, escorted by her realtor. And soon three men are showing off a bit, telling ghost stories, each one a little more wild and compelling than the one before. The place is beginning to feel a bit haunted. The woman has a ghost story of her own, which changes everything. So it goes in Conor McPherson’s play.

Murray says: “Conor McPherson is one of three contemporary geniuses of the Irish theatre, and his plays are grounded in stories which come out of the land: swirled with booze, and reaching for the stars. This is a play about men living on haunted ground, and you will find yourself clutching your heart while the hair rises on the back of your necks. A sensation not to be missed.”
