ART&WINE: A Body in Fukushima
February 5, 2015 | 7:00 PM
ART&WINE is a signature GOCA program that brilliantly pairs wine and art with talks on both. It's no secret that wine and art have a rich history together - join us for an evening filled with this natural blend. ART&WINE pairs four wines with the artwork in our current exhibition - guests enjoy a seated tasting with heavy hors d'oeuvres while connecting with contemporary art experiences.
Frank Frey, GOCA board member and resident Libation Maestro, will select 4 sakes (rice wines) and lead the tasting with lively learning. Sushi and snacks will be served to compliment Frey's choices. GOCA Director and Curator Daisy McConnell will speak about A Body In Fukushima, the photographic documentation of a powerful collaboration between Eiko Otake (MacArthur Award winning movement artist) and William Johnston (photographer and East Asia historian).
Event includes a tasting of four wines, non-alcoholic beverages and heavy hors d'oeuvres, art and wine knowledge, and a wonderful guided experience of the A Body In Fukushima exhibit!
