Satchmo at the Waldorf
by Terry Teachout; directed by Gordon Edelstein; starring John Douglas Thompson
February 18–March 6, 2016
Dusty Loo Bon Vivant Theater
Louis Armstrong is winding down his career, and in his dressing room he tells it like it was, and is. The great American actor John Douglas Thompson comes to Colorado Springs with exactly the same show that wowed Broadway audiences, giving us the real man behind that amazing horn.
This is a work of fiction, based freely on fact. The language in Satchmo is salty, emphatic, vigorous and frequently profane.
