The Game of Love and Chance
by Pierre de Marivaux; translated and adapted by Stephen Wadsworth; directed by Murray Ross
October 20–November 6, 2016
Dusty Loo Bon Vivant Theater
A young nobleman is betrothed to a woman he’s never met. He changes costume and roles with his servant when they go courting to better assess his fiancée’s qualities. Unbeknownst to him, his bride to be has exactly the same plan. The result is a comically complicated masquerade that comments provocatively on the relations between love and class, while revealing fresh palpitations of the heart in every level of society.
