Back Home from the War on Terror
Monday, October 1, 2018 • 7:00 PM
Chapman Foundations Recital Hall
New York Times journalist and Pulitzer Prize winner Dave Philipps will moderate a discussion about life after war, particularly the tensions between those who have served in the war on terror — and their families — and civilians back home who may struggle to relate to them.
Joining this compelling conversation is Max Shulman, University of Colorado Colorado Springs assistant professor and producer of the HomeFront Theatre Project, which seeks to foster a richer understanding of veterans and the military; Jen Burch, a Field Director for Concerned Veterans for America, board member of the Colorado Veterans Project, and retired Staff Sergeant in the Air Force; and C. J. Chivers, a Times journalist and Marine Corps infantry veteran, who won a Pulitzer Prize for his 2016 story about an Afghan war veteran’s travails.
$15 | $5 for military and students
