Founded in 1952 by dancer and choreographer Amalia Hernández, Ballet Folklórico de México blends the music, dance and costume of Mexican folklore from pre-Colombian civilizations through the present. Their colorful performances have been described as “living museums” of Mexico’s cultural traditions. The 2018 tour features renewed productions of the company’s classic choreography.
This project received support from Colorado Creative Industries, WESTAF (the Western States Arts Federation) and the National Endowment for the Arts.
