Art&Wine: Napa Valley

March 21–24, 2019

Unfortunately, the 2019 Art&Wine trip has been cancelled. Please check back later for information about upcoming special events and trips.

Art&Wine brings wine and art enthusiasts together with expert guides throughout the four-day discovery of a very special place – the Napa and Sonoma Valley regions in northern California.
Though just 30 miles long and a few miles wide, Napa Valley is home to diverse microclimates and soils uniquely suited to the cultivation of a variety of fine wine grapes. A robust art scene has grown in the region, ranging from gallery districts, private collections that rival major museums, and one of the finest contemporary art centers in California.

Our wine and geography experts have crafted a very special series of tours and tasting room explorations, including treks through world-famous wineries like Chateau Montelena, Silverado, Summit Lake Vineyards & Winery, Hess, and Duckhorn. Beyond learning about the wine, you'll get insights into the unique geography of the region and how it influences the internationally acclaimed wines produced there – Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Zinfandel, and Cabernet Franc, among others. We'll kick things off with a pre-trip tasting in Colorado Springs at Coaltrain Winery that will equip you with tips for tasting and understanding a variety of wines.

This year, we've lined up a series of exhibitions, collections, a studio visit and a paired tasting at Morimoto (because food can be art, too!). The art we'll experience will vary from modern and contemporary collections (including world-renowned historic works) to works created by artists living and working in the region today – accompanied by expert tours throughout.

We’ll stay at the boutique hotel Andaz Hyatt in the heart of downtown Napa. You'll be able to easily walk to tasting rooms, the famous Oxbow Market, art galleries, shops and more. The hotel curates its own series of weekly performances by local musicians from the Bay Area, and also features an onsite café, restaurant, pool, fitness center and spa. Check out their website.

This is what makes our tour unique. Starting with a pre-trip tasting and overview, you’ll have the chance to talk about what you're experiencing with your trip-mates and guides at gatherings (with great wine and food, of course!). We’ll ride together on chartered shuttles to the wineries up and down the valley (no need to worry about driving).
We pepper the trip with exclusive access experiences - last year it was a studio visit with artist Linda Fleming and a behind the scenes gallery visit in downtown Napa. This year we're planning a special paired tasting at Morimoto (of Iron Chef fame!) and a studio visit with an artist to be announced.

Napa offers so much more to do and see (and taste!) than we could possibly fit into four days… so our promise to you is that we set aside time for your own explorations in the evenings. From five star dining in Yountville, to the galleries across downtown Napa, to the Oxbow market and more, we’ll balance our gatherings with unscheduled time so you’ll return home feeling exhilarated (not exhausted).
