Bound for a full sixty minutes!
Thomas Cole, "Prometheus Bound," 1846-1847
As a final project, students of my Greek tragedy class have been assigned to rehearse and produce a slightly abbreviated version of Aeschylus’ PROMETHEUS BOUND. They have
had a total of 5 hours on their own to rehearse and prepare their production. INSTANT PROMETHEUS will be given only one performance, 3:00 PM THURSDAY DECEMBER 13 IN THE OSBORNE STUDIO. The production will last about an hour. Quality is absolutely not guaranteed. Several students will take turns having their livers picked. There is a chorus of lovely ocean spirits. Carmen Vreeman will play a cow-girl (a girl turned into a cow). Hermes flies in. David Bredemeier has supplied a large format mountain set. There will be some crude shadow play. Everyone is welcome—so please join us for a little taste of Greek tragedy; just what every holiday season needs!
