What sort of car should the artistic director of THEATREWORKS drive? A question to be asked. Something classy and something small, befitting my position with the classiest little theater in town. Something cooler than my magic iphone, cooler even than the iphone 4g which I have not got. Something zippy, something that corners like a dream and goes from 0-60 in 3.7 seconds, like my mind. Something green, and something future oriented. A very quiet car so I can hear myself talking. A chick magnet car (I need all the help I can get these days, and the director's couch is so passe). And of course a car that perfectly suits our current sensational season. Finally, a company car that will exhaust no more than 25% of our endowment. I have found such a vehicle, and last weekend I flew to Milwaukee to take possession. Here I am with my luggage being loaded in the trunk. Look on my new set of wheels: the 2010 Tesla of course. The only car the THEATREWORKS Artistic Director should drive. Passenger resumes are now being accepted.
July 27, 2010: OMG - Fantastic! I'm feeling pretty crappy about my 50mpg TDI right about now :^). I was just in Palo Alto and stopped by the Tesla store and saw the prototype - awesome.
Anyway, put me on the list.
Khris Lewin, July 28, 2010: Great, Murray! I'm just glad that you weren't writing a show about Nicolas Humvee.
Jon, August 10, 2010: That is too awesome. I was going to say the Chevy Volt when that comes out, but this is FAR better.
How do I submit my resume? BTW I am a great wingman
Jerry Forbes, Oct. 1, 2010: Murry,
Good choice! Although I was going to suggest my 568 rear wheel HP 1993 Torch Red (inside & out) Corvette Coupe. But it's loud exhause may not suit you. Certainly it's faster, but not as economical as the Tesla. Mine does get 27mpg on the highway.
