Irma Vep Guest Speaker THEATREWORKS is proud to present Sean Edgecomb on Sunday December 13 at 2:30 p.m. in Room 109 (adjacent to the Lobby of the Dusty Loo Bon Vivant Theater). Sean Edgecomb received his Ph.D. in Drama from Tufts University in 2009. He currently teaches classes in theatre history and criticism at Emerson College, Tufts University, and Boston University. His dissertation, "Still Ridiculous: The Legacy of Charles Ludlam and the Ridiculous Theatre Movement, 1987-2007," examined the practice and heirs of one of the twentieth century's most innovative and under-appreciated gay playwrights-Charles Ludlam. Dr. Edgecomb has published articles and book chapters on his research and had presented lectures both domestically and internationally. He is currently studying the unexpected practice of the Ridiculous theatre genre in mainland China in the work of Beijing's most famous contemporary playwright and diector, Menh Jinghui.
