Two Turntables and a Microphone is the third performance of the TRIPLE THREAT summer concert series, a new collaboration between GOCA, the Colorado Springs Philharmonic, and Nosh taking place in downtown Colorado Springs.
On Thursday, August 13 at 8pm, Idris Goodwin and DJ Gravity will use hip-hop to showcase two instruments—one organic and the other mechanic. Rap, singing, and spoken word will highlight the human voice while two turntables and a microphone showcase the vital instrumentation of the turntablist for engaging crowds.
Make sure to check out Goodwin’s latest EP, Rhyming While Black, and read his interview with the Colorado Springs Independent, “Poetic Justice,” for your listening enjoyment and enlightenment.
The TRIPLE THREAT concerts are free, take place outside on the Nosh patio, and give audiences a chance to experience different musical genres and local artists.
