GOCA, the Colorado Springs Philharmonic, and NOSH joined forces to present a new FREE summer concert series in downtown Colorado Springs, the Triple Threat summer concert series. Featured in the series is Colorado Springs native and singer-songwritter Miette Hope. Her songs are best known for their honest and emotional lyrical content as well as memorable melodies and harmonies.
Hope recently released her first EP, “Expressions” and traveled around the U.S. for a short first tour during the 2014-2015 winter. Hope is currently attending the Berklee College of Music in Boston on a presidential songwriting scholarship awarded by Vans Off the Wall Shoe Company. She also performs and composes music for the up and coming Boston based band, Aüva, and the Colorado Springs based band, Edith Makes a Paperchain.
When performing as a solo artist, Hope uses her looping pedal and guitar to add textures to her indie-soul style. Hope will perform a solo set during the August 30th Triple Threat concert in addition to performing with a group of musicians whom she met in high school while attending the Colorado Springs Conservatory. David Musante (guitar), Tim Malloy (base guitar), and Devin Malloy (drums) have created a jazz group with Hope called Miette et les Garçons.
Hear Hope perform on Thursday, July 30 starting at 8pm on the Nosh patio. GOCA’s downtown gallery will stay open late that night with BRIGHT YOUNG THINGS on view.
