Lana Duong is a Los Angeles based artist holding multiple degrees in Biology, Psychology, as well as a Masters in Fine Arts focused on drawing and painting.
Her practice currently involves a multitude of materials, including graphite, concrete, and mixed media. As an artist exploring a range of media, Duong finds it “important…to push the boundaries of the materials [that] I use, and open myself up to as many materials as possible.” – Lana Duong
Recent inspirations of Duong’s include the German artist, Isa Genzken who lives and works in Berlin, Germany. Other inspirations include “musicians like Frank Ocean, who create a poetic experience for the listener through their music.” Lana Duong is a member of the Durden & Ray Collective and is also one of the three collaborative curators for the Collectivity exhibition. Her work will be on view in downtown Colorado Springs June 1 - July 7, 2018.
About the Exhibition
GOCA’s first exhibition of the 2018-19 season, Collectivity, will investigate points of connection between artists from two significant artist collectives based out of the Western United States – Hyperlink (Colorado) and Durden & Ray (Los Angeles) in concurrent exhibits across two states.
