Luz Fleming, son of artists Dean and Linda Fleming, is an experimental music and audio producer, and filmmaker based in Brooklyn, NY. Nevertheless, Fleming continues to have strong ties to Libre, where he was born in 1974, and now serves as part of the Council. In 1992, after graduating from The Urban School in San Francisco on a full scholarship, Fleming enters Bennington College in Vermont, where he acquired a Bachelor of Arts in Music Composition and Improvisation. On 2012 Fleming and his mother collaborated on the sound for both videos of the “Making Places” project, also edits the audio work “All my Studios” in which Linda Fleming describes the 26 studios she has inhabited and hints at the history of the art world over time.
Fleming’s music and audio-producing work is eclectic and draws inspiration from a variety of influences, including Latin and urban sounds. Hi work on experimental film, on the other hand is stimulating, refreshing and thought-provoking. His feature piece “Huerfano” perfectly captures Fleming’s many talents.
