Born in Montreal, Quebec, Alexandre da Costa chose to pursue the violin from a very young age. He was able to perform concertos on both violin and piano with virtuosity by the age of 9 and became known as a prodigy. He went on to earn a Masters of Violin and a Bachelors of Piano Interpretation from the University of Montreal at age 18, and is currently pursuing a research PhD.
Alexandre da Costa is now one of the most sought-after violinists and soloists in the world, and has given close to two thousand concerts and recitals throughout North America, Europe, Australia and Asia. He's appeared as guest soloist and conductor in more than 2,000 concerts in the world's most prestigious venues, with the most renowned orchestras and conductors. On May 22nd, he performs at the Chapman Foundations Recital Hall with the Colorado Springs Philharmonic.
