THEATREWORKS launched its 2017-2018 Season dedicated to the legacy and memory of founding artistic director Murray Ross with Much Ado About Nothing this summer. It was wild good fun and sold out nearly every performance. Heisenberg, starring the incomparable Prentiss Benjamin and notable film and television actor Lawrence Pressman, is on now through the September 24.
We’ll finish out the fall in the Dusty Loo Bon Vivant Theater with two of the funniest most entertaining actors to ever perform at THEATREWORKS. Michael Kane will appear in Wild Honey directed by UCCS’ very own Professor Kevin Landis, who as many of you know produces the wildly successful Prologue Series. And the gut-wrenchingly funny, Sammie Joe Kinnett will star in the hilarious Santaland Diaries in December and will serve as a fitting goodbye to our “old” Dusty Loo Bon Vivant Theater.
Turning the corner into 2018, we’ll inaugurate our magnificent, new Dusty Loo Bon Vivant Theater in the Ent Center for the Arts with a new take on the musical classic, Oklahoma!. The UCCS Theatre & Dance Program will produce Ibsen’s epic tale of adventure, Peer Gynt. To close the season is Amadeus, featuring an ensemble from the Colorado Spring Philharmonic.
The search for the next artistic director is underway, and we expect to report on the next steps for this very soon. There is also still availability for the 2018 London Tour.
Thanks to all of the wonderful THEATREWORKS subscribers and supporters who have made this season possible.
