Known for its improvisational and genre-blurring approach to classical music, PUBLIQuartet expands the techniques and aesthetic of the traditional string quartet. The group received Chamber Music America’s 2015 ASCAP Adventurous Programming Award for outstanding and innovative approaches to contemporary classical, jazz, and world chamber music, and has been called "a perfect encapsulation of today's trends in chamber music" (Washington Post).
Freedom and Faith, which features compositions ranging from legends like Nina Simone to rising stars like Shelley Washington, celebrates composers and their personal relationship to Faith. Forged from renewed conviction and hope in the face of oppression, their fresh approach to chamber music captures the essence of resilience.
