Colorado Flute Fair

The Colorado Flute Association will host its annual Flute Fair celebrating the artistry of the Colorado flute community on Saturday, October 19th, 2019. This year's fair will feature Guest Artist Demarre McGill. Current Principal Flute of the Seattle Symphony, Mr. McGill will present a morning workshop and masterclass as well as an evening recital in partnership with UCCS Presents. The day will include the Young Artist Competition finals, solo, chamber, and flute choir performances, and workshops on flute mechanics, piccolo tips and tricks, listening techniques, and the French Conservatory traditions.

Jane Rigler will return from her Fulbright work in Ireland to host the annual Colorado Flute Fair that will be presented for the first time south of Denver at the Ent Center for the Performing Arts. Students and the public are invited to a free lunchtime Deep Listening® gathering in Ent 245 from 12:00pm-12:50pm.

On Sunday October 20, 3pm, in the Chapman Foundations Recital Hall, the Pikes Peak Flute Choir will perform Rigler's The Calling (of my breath into yours), which is inspired by humpback whales and the depths of our collective consciousness.
